Rice University does not have a language requirement, but if you have some knowledge of a foreign language and may be interested in studying the language at Rice CLIC, you must take the placement test to determine the most appropriate course for you. Online testing will be available during the specific dates listed below for all languages offered at CLIC.
NEXT TESTING PERIOD: August 8 - 30, 2016
Are you ready to take the Language Placement Test? Follow the steps on the "Test Instructions" page.
Important: Please, make sure to take the placement test early in the testing period. Portions of the tests are graded manually by a limited number of instructors who need some time to process the information before your registration.
Note: If you are having difficulties taking the test online with your own computer, you can take the test at the Center for Languages & Intercultural Communication (CLIC) computer lab on the first floor of Rayzor Hall.
Any questions should be directed to CLICplacement@rice.edu.
